After the first admission or the call a detailed inquiry is done. At first visit vaginal ultrasound examination blood tests and semen analysis (semen analysis) is requested. When there is no obstacle or a problem at the history, symptoms and test results which may negatively affect the process, IVF treatment is started.

Most of the time the treatment covers 45 days. The 30 days of their treatment is at home using the pill and the last 15 days in Antalya for finalizing the treatment. The first phase process starts on day 3 of menstruation.

1. Birth control pill phase: The aim of this phase of treatment is to suppress the ovaries in order to synchronize egg development. . This period, which lasted about 3 weeks and follow-up is not required and patients do not have to come to the center. During this period, we also start single dose of azitromycin 1000 mg ,and daily doses of folic acid and 100 mg aspirin. In patients with diminished ovarian reserve we may skip pills and initiate stimulation phase with gonadotropins. If this occurs we call the patient on day2 of the cycle.

2. Daily injections: This is the main and most critical treatment. We start the injections 5 days after the last pill which usually corresponds to the second day of the cycle after the BCPs. According to the growth rate of the eggs it takes about 10 days but can range from 9 days to 12 days. During this period, daily and often self applied subcutaneous injections are used and patients come to the center every 2-3 days for follicle measurements by ultrasound examination. Intermittent hormone levels with blood tests as may be required. Most of the time a diameter of 17 mm with minimum of 3 follicles are taken into consideration for triggering the maturation with HCG injection. This is the final injection in order to ensure that the collected eggs will be matured. Aspirin, folic acid continues during this phase.

3. Egg collection: 35 hours after triggering with HCG injection the eggs are retrieved in the operating room, with a brief anesthesia. The follicles are aspirated with a needle attached to the vaginal which usually takes 5-10 minutes. . Our aim is to obtain 10-15 eggs. The husband gives sperm by afterwards and within a few hours sperm microinjection is performed for fertilization. With this method, fertilization rate of 70%, good looking embryo development is provided in 40-50% of the total eggs.

4. Embryo transfer: This procedure is painless and is not different than a routine examination. After 2-5 days of embryo culture the best embryos atre loaded to a catheter and transferred to the uterine cavity. Ultrasound guided transfer a moderate filled bladder is required in order to visualize the location of the transfer in the cavity. The patient may travel to home the same or next day after the transfer.

Waiting period and pregnancy test. Rest is unnecessary after the procedure and this has been proven in many scientific studies. 12 days after the procedure, blood pregnancy test (HCG) will confirm that the pregnancy has occurred or not.
